» Cognitive Behavior Therapy

Grace Place Counseling, LLC utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy to help clients identify and modify negative thought patterns and behaviors. Through this evidence-based approach, we assist individuals in developing coping strategies and achieving positive changes in their lives.

» Walk & Talk Therapy

Walk & Talk Therapy is a therapeutic approach where the therapist and client walk together, usually in an outdoor setting, while discussing personal issues. This practice benefits not only your physical health but also your mental well-being, as it has been shown to reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety. Walking with a therapist allows for open conversation in a natural environment, helping you stay grounded in the present moment and reducing over-thinking, which is an important aspect for mental clarity and emotional relief.

If you are interested in Walk & Talk Therapy and are either located near, or able to commute to, the 94513 zip code, please contact Jennifer directly to coordinate dates and times.

Meet Jennifer.

Seeking help for mental health issues can feel intimidating and humbling, but it doesn’t have to be. Recognizing when to ask for help is a sign of strength. We all need someone who will listen, empathize, guide when needed, and even challenge us at times. This is what you’ll experience with Jennifer.

Jennifer J. Ferguson, MS, LPC, LPCC, believes you are the expert on your life and experiences. Her goal is to help you build the tools you need to navigate life’s challenges confidently. Ultimately, she aims to work herself out of your life—knowing you’re equipped to handle things independently, yet always available as a safety net if needed.

Jennifer has extensive experience working with teens through older adults, addressing issues such as depression, anxiety, self-worth, trauma, substance use, and more. She has worked in diverse settings, including drug rehabilitation, high schools, outpatient programs, and private practice. Her approach incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, education, and, above all, attentive listening.

In addition to these areas, Jennifer has unique experience working with military families and church workers, as well as their family members. She understands the specific pressures and challenges that come with these roles. Navigating the demands placed on military personnel or church workers can be stressful and overwhelming for their loved ones. Jennifer helps family members manage the expectations and stress that often accompany these responsibilities, offering guidance and support during difficult times.

Since grade school, Jennifer has known that her calling was to be a counselor. She recognized early on that people need to be heard without judgment. Often, the answers emerge through the process of talking things out. Jennifer provides a non-judgmental space where you can speak freely, while she asks thoughtful questions to help you determine what’s best for your situation.
